How to take a backup on storage

hi,

In our Data center all this days backup was happening on tapes.AS WE DO NOT HAVE TAPES WE ARE PLANING TO TAKE BACKUP ON STORAGE.

kINDLY SUGGEST ON HOW TO CONFIGURE A DATA TO BE BACKED ON STORAGE.

 

i HAVE BELOW INFORMATION 

i HAVE ONE MEDIA SERVER POINTING TO MASTER.Now i allocate storage space of 2TB from a storage box to Media server.after that how to make configuration such that data backup of any clients goes on storage box.

 

Hope so you understood my requirement.Kindly suggest.

hi,

below tech notes will expline how to do that, it explines about the disk staging also.. if you do not what to disk staging.. you uncheck the disk staging option from the configuration.

If you are only using plain disk remember each backup u take is a copy of the data and longer the retention more is the space
