How to type in a centralized exception?

SEPM help doesn't show any examples in the help.
Do you need to use slash marks like this "/" at the beginning and/or end of the path to the file or folder if you use the built-in prefix variables in the drop down box? such as "/foldername/" or "/foldername/filename.edb"?

Prefix is nothing but similar to WIndows Shorcuts.
Eg: %[Program_Files]% is %programfiles% so in oder to open any folder after that you need to give \...
