How do I uninstall netbackup client on unix itanium server? Version is currently at 6.5.3.1. Note that the client was pushed out from the master server so there is no uninstall script on the cilent itself.

I'm trying to see if there is a way to install the netbackup for oracle agent for this unix itanium server. However, since the latest patch for oracle for netbackup is only 6.5.2, I'm thinking I have to downgrade the client from 6.5.3.1 to 6.5.2 version.

Thanks in advance,

Enoch

P.S, if you plan on

P.S, if you plan on re-installing 6.5X, simply just mv /usr/openv /usr/openv.old
and re-install.  Refer to your /usr/openv /usr/openv.old for any reference you may need to reconfigure the client such as bp.conf, scripts, etc.  When you no longer need it, just delete /usr/openv.old.

Otherwise if you are looking for complete removal, see the pages referenced.

You are right go back to 6.5.2 then up to 6.5.3

I experienced a similar issue of installing the 6.5.2 Oracle Agent and at the same time installing the 6.5.3 binaries - it didn't work.

I was at 6.5.1 Server/Client and Agents and wanted to jump to 6.5.3 (+ the 6.5.2 Agent)

The installation script failed for the agent as the agent was at a prior update to the CLT and JAVA and NB update installed.

So i ran the uninstall script in the /usr/openv/pack subfolder for 6.5.3 - this took me back to 6.5.1

I proceeded to then install the 6.5.2 Server/Client and 6.5.2 Oracle Agent - worked.

Then I upgraded to 6.5.3 for the available Server/Client.

Coincidentally this was also on a HPUX IA64.

OR alternatively just make the move to 6.5.4 as all DB Agent Options are at 6.5.4 now

Tip: Get overview/document your NBU environment. Run 'nbsu' and review the output.

NB_ORA_6.5.2 works with NB_6.5.3.1

I'm not sure about IA-64 server, but I could install NB_ORA_6.5.2 on NB_CLT_6.5.3.1 SPARC Solaris clients. And I could on server too.
