  • 1.  How to uninstall SEP client if i forget the uninstallation password

    Hi folks,

    When i uninstall SEP from client system it is asking for password. i forget the password so now how can i uninstall .

    Do you have access to the SEPM? You can remove the password requirement from the SEPM

    Whats the exact version of SEP you have installed?

    AFAIK above two methods does not work

    VPuninstall used to exist in SAV no more in SEP.

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

    I would be glad to answer your query.

    To delete GUI password follow the steps:

    Open the registry

    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SMC
     
    Change the value for SmcGuiHasPassword from 1 to 0
     
    Restart the SMC service
     
    To delete uninstall password follow the steps:
     
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\AV\AdministratorOnly\Security\UseVPUninstallPassword
     
    Set to 0 to disable it.
     
    Or 
     
    Use the cleanwipe tool to remove SEP.
     
    You need to contact support to receive latest cleanwipe tool.
