Hello,

I have a problem, features Proactive and Network Threat Prrotection on my client machine cannot update automatically. whether it can update manually ? if so, please give me the way and steps ..

NTP and PTP definitions will not udpate daily

what definition dates do you see?

these are the latest date definitions.

if you are using 12.1.3 manually downloading jdb file will update the definitions

SEP 12.1 RU3 included a new feature allowing update of PTP and IPS definitions over the executable Intelligent Updater:

For 11.x you cannot update ptp and ntp definitions manually. it has to get the update from internet or sepm or Luadmin. whats the issue you are facing, whats the current date of definitions on the client?

Unfortunately SEP 11.x allows only update of the Virus Defintions over Intelligent updater or jdb file. The PTP / NTP defs need to be downloaded either from Update Servers or SEPM / GUP. There is no other way.

In SEP 11.x, You can surely update AV/AS definitions via methods like .jdb file, intelligent updater.

However, to update PTP and NTP definitions, you would have to have Internet and you can download the definitions via direct download or via Liveupdate Administrator.

There is no manual way to update the clients with PTP and NTP definitions.

AFAIK it is possible to update SEP Clients' PTP and NTP signatures manually, but it is a bit of a headache.

The process is to enable "thrid party distribution" of definitions via the LiveUpdate policy, before then locating the relevant files in the "%ProgramFiles%\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Inetpub\content" folder, preparing them, and finally placing the files in a specific location on the client.
