    Posted Sep 05, 2014 09:47 AM

    Hi All,

We have got SEMP 12.1 which was updated few days ago. With that update the clients version became 12.1.4100.4126.  But we would like to update clients with version 12.1.4112.4156.

Could someone help to me how can I update clients centrally?

    Regards

You can use the AutoUpgrade feature. Follow this article:

Upgrading clients by using AutoUpgrade in Symantec Endpoint Protection

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your query.

    SEP 12.1 RU4MP1b (12.1.4112.4156) is the latest version. It seems you have SEP 12.1 RU4 ( 12.1.4100.4126)

You need to upgrade the SEPM to the latest version & it will add SEP 12.1 RU4MP1b packages in the console. Upgrade of SEPM is necessary to cover open SSL vulnerability. In case you haven't seen this info here are more details: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH216558

    OR

You will have to manually import the packages into the console (Not recommended for you)

After successful SEPM upgrade, upgrade the clients either using Auto upgrade OR Client deployment wizard (CDW)

    Hi .Brian,

I've already read this article, but I couldn't find Install package under admin. I've got SEMP Small Business Edition Version 12.1.4104.4130

    I've taken a screenshot.

Your Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition clients will upgrade automatically once the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager has been upgraded. No further action is required on your part to complete the upgrade process

If you would like to manually upgrade the clients to the latest version please see:

How to deploy a Symantec Endpoint Protection Client from the Symantec Protection Center (SPC) Console

However, To disable the auto-upgrade feature for clients

    1. Login to the Symantec Protection Center Console.
    2. Select the Computers page.
    3. Under My Company select the group that includes the clients you would like to prevent from using the auto-upgrade feature.
    4. Under Tasks select Edit the group properties.
    5. Click the checkbox for Disable Automatic Client Package Updates.
    6. Click OK.

You're running SEP SBE, this upgrade should happen automatically.

MP1a is the latest for SBE, you can use that

    Hi,

For SBE, MP1a is the latest version. Under International English, you should be able to see the latest version if it's on premises license.

I hope you are not using SEP.cloud version.

Small Business Edition was previously called as a Symantec Protection Center (SPC).  So no need to download it.

In existing version you will see 'Client deployment wizard' to deploy the latest version.

To summarize this issue, you just need an upgrade of SEPM to 12.1 RU4MP1a (12.1.4104.4130)

RU4MP1a upgrade is applicable only for SEPM so clients will stay on  SEP 12.1 RU4MP1 (12.1.4100.4126) only.

SEP release details are available here.

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/what-are-symantec-endpoint-protection-sep-versions-released-officially

SEP 12.1 RU5 is due for release in 1st or 2nd week of Oct'14.

I've just chosen a licence serial number from SEPM. We don't use cloud version.

If it is the latest version of files why cannot chose higher client version (screenshot)?

I've run symhelp and it says the SEPM is the latest but client isn't.

One more thing. We haven't got ADC installed (I don't know included in this version) maybe that's why the latest client is 4100.4126?

I have another question, maybe it belongs to a different community.

On the client under Network Threat Protection Settings everything is greyed out. I've tried to managed it from SEPM and I've read more articles where can I manage it, but I couldn't find it.

Could you advise where can I find it?

    Hi,

In the SEPM firewall policy you can get control over these settings.

You can pass on very limited control to clients in this case as per the screenshots. It's recommended not to allow clients to change these settings due to security.

I believe other grayed out settings are not configurable from the client machine.
