How to update\refresh IP address for PC with broken SMA
Hi, we have a few PCs with a broken SMA, we normally just reinstall the agent by adding the PC to \Settings\Agents/Plug-ins\Symantec Management Agent\Settings\Symantec Management Agent Install, choose the PC and click install.
I've come across an issue today though, a PC shows in the SMC with the IP address it had when we imaged it, so it fails to contact the PC to instll the agent. Sometimes we can put in the current IP address to get around this, but this time the current IP address maps to an old PC in SMC so the the install fails again.
Is there anyway to force SMC to update the IP address of a managed PC whos agent has stopped working? If I check real time monitoring it shows the current IP address, but doesn't update the client resource. In the end I just deleted the PC from SMC and then when I added it to the SMA install it worked fine.
