I need some instruction on how to upgrade the SEPM (version 12.1.650) to version 12.1.2015.  I went to file connect to download the file.  I unzipped the file and ran the excecutable on a test server.

When the wizard started - i noticed that i didn't get the usual first page that lets you either install the Admin console or install the client.  It just does the client install and finishes.  How do I upgrade the actual SEPM?  or does the SEPM version stay the same and there is just a newer version package to assign to groups?

Extract the contents of the compressed file to a location of your choice

Navigate to the extracted files, then enter the SEPM folder and double-click on setup.exe:

It will upgrade the SEPM automatically just follow the screenshots mentioned on the below article

Did you run the setup.exe file in that was in the SEPM folder?

It sounds like you installed the client instead.

he installed the client instead of SEPM.

So try the above steps get into SEPM folder and run the setup.exe. for fresh installation or else for the upgrade

that's exactly what i did - i only down loaded the client version - not the full version.
