Created: 22 Feb 2013 • Updated: 07 Mar 2013 | 3 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

We have multiple servers running Symantec Veritas Enterprise Administrator, version 32.and 4.1 that have Nessus vulnerabilities, Symantec Veritas Enterprise Administrator Service (vxsvc) Multiple Integer Overflows  ( 3CN56239 ).

Would someone please provide suggestions?

The recommended GUI to managed SF is VOM - this is a centralised management tool with which you can manage all your SF servers and VCS.  The VOM client is installed automatically with recent versions of SF (since about 5.1 I think).   I believe there is also some "push out software" functionallity in VOM, but for more information on this, you would need to ask question in forum.

I agree with Mike - consider using VOM instead:

VEA  3.4.30 can be downloaded from here:

The latest version of SF 6.0 have the vxsvc (VEA) buffer overflows fixed. It is recommended to upgrade the SF to these versions. For older versions, there have been patches released. The below link has details on this.
