  • 1.  How to upload new version from fileconnect into SEMP

    Posted Dec 17, 2013 06:57 PM

Hello _ i recently downloaded the latest version of SEP - 12.1.4 fromFileConnect and want to import it into my SEPM to use to update my workstations.  My question is how to do this.  I am trying to follow the directions you guys have given me in the past but when I upzip the fileconnect package - there is no.info file, just .ini and .exe files.  Can someone tell me in layman terms how to get this new version into the SEPM?  like step 1 - download file from file connect.  2.  unzip file connect file.  I am very confused......(like usual   :)    )

After you downloaded the ISO and extracted it, find the SEPM folder and go into it. Inside here will be a folder called Packages.

These contain the DAT files you need which are the packages to import. Should be named SAV32.dat and SAV64.dat

Did you download Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Part1_Installation_EN from file connect?

This is the full SEPM upgrade package and once you extract it all you will see the packages in a seperate folder that you can import into the SEPM before upgrading it. Or if you upgrade directly to the latest SEPM it will automatically add the client packages into the SEPM itself.

    The part where you said-

"find the SEPM folder and go into it. Inside here will be a folder called Packages.

These contain the DAT files you need which are the packages to import. Should be named SAV32.dat and SAV64.dat"

That was all I needed.  I was in the wrong set of folders!!!!!!!  THANKS!!!

Cool, glad you got it. Not sure why the solution button wasn't working though...

Always best to upgrade your SEPM to latest version; this will add needed new packages.

There may be enhancements to the SEPM itself needed to support the new clients.

    Just my 2 cents worth.
