  • 1.  How to verify latest anti-virus and sypware up-to-date installed?

    I will have audit tomorrow and I need to know what information I need to look at when I go to Help | Troubleshooting. Please see attachment, what does it mean "provide zero-day protection against unknown threats"? Is my Proactive Threat Protection out of date?

    The latest definitions for each component are here:

    https://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions.jsp

    For PTP look at the Behavior-based protection and the extended version is what you should go by. So your PTP is up to date.

    PTP doesn't up every day like traditional signatures. SONAR uses behavioral analysis to determine if a file is a threat and doesn't use signatures:

    The whitelist is typically what is updated with the signatures. It contains a list of known good applications which are allowed.

    thats the latest one. you can check the the link provided by Brian for the latest definition for each module.

    You have the latest version of PTP installed. Extended Version: 2/8/2013 rev. 11 Unlike AV, PTP will not be update daily.
