you can pull a report which would give you the info

    open sepm

    monitors

    logs

    computer status

click on advanced ( blue link at the bottom)

    put the computer name and click on create report. seems like your sepm has the updated information however your client has old definitions;

check if the client is communicting with the manager; disable windows firewall on both the client and the manager.

do you see the green dot on the client??

You can check in the Computer Status Logs in Monitor > Logs Tab. Also you can check in the Client Tab and change the View to Protection Technology. Other than this check the Computer Physically and match the date that it shows in the logs.

On a client, you  could  go to the  following  location:

    Win 2003 server/Xp:

C:/program files/Common files/Symantec Shared/VirusDefs  folder, and  check the folders there. The folders  correspond to date  , and  revision.

    On Win 2008 /Win &:

    C:/program data/Symantec/Definitions

The Definitions  might have been corrupted.

Try stopping  all Symantec Servcies, and  then deleting the contents of the folder:

    Win 2003 server/Xp:

    C:/program files/Common files/Symantec Shared/VirusDefs

    On Win 2008 /Win &:

    C:/program data/Symantec/Virus Definitions.
