Hi forum,

I receive an important email every week. Unfortunately that mail is being quarantined. I receive the message

"Administrator Alert: Symantec Mail Security detected a message with an unscannable attachment or body".

with the content:

Symantec Mail Security replaced 000000282436.PDF with this text message.  The original file was unscannable and was quarantined.

I already configured my AntiSpam Whitelist not to filter that address. The email contains a pdf file that is not encrypted.

The mail is still being filtered.

My system is Symantec Mail Security 6.5.7.279 on a Windows Server 2008R2 Enterprise.

I think I've to modify the Virus policy but don't know how. Can anyone help?

Best regards

nushell

Your whitelist is just to keep Mail Security from scanning an item for Spam, not antivirus. With that said look for the event in your Windows Application Log for details as to why it was deemed unscannable.
