This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello,

I've installed a four node Symantec FileStore 5.5 SP1 HF1 and i can't use FTP with my domain account. I work with CIFS and NFS normally, but i can't use FTP with the same account CIFS.

So, i want to know if i can configure FTP service with autentification (localy or AD) to allow FTP upload or downlod on the same share of CIFS.

Maybe i need to create a new directory structure or use the same ? Maybe i need to use home-directory ?

Thank you for your replies.

Regards,

Loic Bouquet

French administrator on FileStore.

Hello Loic, By default, the

Hello Loic,

By default, the FTP service is not started but you can start the FTP server using the
FTP> server start   command.
The FTP server starts on the standard FTP port 21. For details, ref to Chap 10 "Using FTP" section of Symantec™ FileStore Command-Line Administrator's Guide.

I think the FTP server either allows anonymous or local user access. I don't think it supports NT Domain and AD Domain users like CIFS server.

Thanks,

Jawahar Mohan

As per FileStore 5.6

As per FileStore 5.6 command-line admin guide, FileStore 5.6 allows to create local ftp users and home dir.
