    Hello,

we had installed symantec endpoint protection small business edition system with 44 deployed machines around different networks. It tooks time to setup policies for different set of machines and deploy them on a safe way because of their importance. Unfortunately after some period it was impossible to connect on endpoint protection manager due to database problems. After few actions taken there were no success solution. Finally we made reinstall of whole product and now we are able to make connection on manager. My question is:

    - is it possible to have visible all previously installed clients without new deployment ? just because computers are in production and this will be so complicated to make this possible. I tried to find a solution but unfortunately without success. Our installation version is Version 12.1.1101.401 .

    hello,

you can replace sylink.xml file with help of SylinkDrop or SylinkReplacer tool.

    Using the "SylinkReplacer" Utility

Unless you saved a backup for disaster recovery the only way is to replace the sylink file

OK, but this is valid only for clients that they can have future upgrades. What should I make in order to have on server side, management side grouped computers with different policies for each what I lose from before. I'm pretty sure after sylink replacement on client computers they will be visible on server side but my wish is to import from clients also policies if it is possible.

    Thanks

Hi,thanks to your help I did it with SylinkDrop changing the SyLink.xml on client side. Client is visible on Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console but unfortunately without previosly implemented policy. My next question is How do I keep previously implemented group policies that I already have on some client computers, I mean is it possible to export them from client and import from Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console. If this is posslible in such a way this will help me completely to solve issue without losing any data.

    Regards,

    Boris

no it's not possible you can export client side and import sepm server.

You need to create new policy and apply all sep client.

    You can check thease artical

Thanks a lot. Next step is to create and later to export policies.
