Hi,

I know it can be done, but my boss would like to see it in documentation somewhere as opposed to listining to the rumor mill chat away. No disrespect to you guys. Where can I find it where it comes out and states this? Thanks.

Hello,

Could you be little precise on your question, please!!!

Are you looking forward to have the SEP 11.x clients managed via SEPM 12.1??

The answer is Yes, SEPM 12.1 can manage SEP 11.0 clients. However, we recommend you to have the same version of SEP clients as of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.

Check this Article:

How to Install Symantec Endpoint Protection v. 11.x from the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager v.12.1?

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH174099

Hope that helps!!

Yes, per this link

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...

A Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) with version 12.1 can successfully deploy, administer and update SEP 11 clients, if necessary.  This mixture of versions is usually a temporary condition as endpoints in the organization are upgraded to SEP 12.1.  In the case of Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Professional endpoints, it may be necessary until computers running the legacy OS are retired.

Hello ,

  • SEP 11 clients can be managed by a SEP 12.1 SEPM.
  • SEP SBE 12.0 clients cannot be managed by a SEP 11 SEPM.

Please check out the below link for more information,

Can Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 Clients Be Managed by Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition SPC/SEPM?

Thanks to those that responded. As far as the first responder goes I thought my question was precise enough and from the looks of things the others responders did not have issues with it. As far as this being discussed on the forums that was not enough I need a HOWTO document that could be presented to management. Just listing to chit chat on these boards was not going to be enough. Apparently I was not clear enough in asking my question.
