  • 1.  HP 8470p Elitebook - Boot Loop after drive encryption

    I just ordered and imaged new 8470p Elitebook HP laptops. After WDE the passphrase screen starts to load then fades out and the laptop reboots.  This occurs on all of the laptops of this model that I have encrypted so far.  I am using PGP Desktop version 10.1.0 (build 860) SDK version 4.0

    I assume that this is a driver, software version or BIOS setting issue.  Please help!

    10.1.0 is quite old, and I am assuming those Elitebooks are pretty brand new.  Can you not get a more up to date version of PGP Desktop?

    Alex,

    Thanks for your reply.  Updating the PGP Desktop to version 12.2.1 seems to have resolved the issue.

    This makes sense, there was a known issue with Sandy Bridge and newer laptop models and PGP WDE 10.1.x builds. We fixed this with 10.1.2 SP2 and subsequent releases (such as 10.2.1 of course) :)
