HP Client Manager not working
Hello,
Environment:
Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2
Altiris DS 6.9 SP2
Altiris NS 6.0.6074 (SP3 + R11)
Latest Version of HP Client Manager
SQL Server 2005 Latest SP
I've followed all the steps:
1. Set Altiris Agent Install
2. Enabled HPCM
3. Set Inventory Settings
4. Added some SoftPaqs
5. Set Basic BIOS Settings
I can't set the Advanced BIOS Settings because it says I need to do an inventory, but I have the inventory set correctly. I look over the reporting and it doesn't look like any of the machines have gotten inventory, or even the Altiris Agent. All the machines listed look like very old machines.
DS works for us great. We've never done very much through NS. Is there a setting somewhere that I may be missing?
I basically just want to set advanced BIOS settings and deploy BIOS updates. It never states how those work, though. Does it reboot the machine? Does it do it silently and then install when the machine is shut down, or what?
Thanks!

Have you updated the list of
Have you updated the list of supported machines? It should be an option on the HP Client Manager portal, left column. You need to run this function from the server running HPCM.

1. The release notes for
1. The release notes for HPCM 7.0 identifies the supported systems (https://kb.altiris.com/display/1/articleDirect/index.asp?aid=41822&r=0.7142755) - Article ID 41822
2. If your clients don't yet have the Altiris Agent, then they are not yet managed. Perform a Discovery of your clients via your domain and then push out the Altiris Agent. Once the Altiris Agent has been pushed out, then you can push out the HPCM Agent.
3. Please search Connect for 'HP Client Manager 7.0'. Under 'Videos', I have placed several videos on how to get up and running with HPCM 7.0. These should prove very helpful for you.
Thanks,
ACM
