HP Instant Support System Health Scan Packages and current driver information

I have noticed that some of the newer drivers do not appear discovered as needed when doing the instant support system health scan.  For instance, my dce7800's show as needing the network driver (sp39807).  This driver is about three drivers back for this computer model.  sp41246 came out sept of 2008, sp41804 came out nov of 2008, and finally, 45881 (which is not ssm compliant) came out in oct of this year.  I have made sure to update the tools often but still it seems like the drivers available to be scanned against are not being updated.  ALSO, when I take a look at my directory structure where the health scan package is on my ns server, there are many directories that are not referenced by a specific package (other than the HP Instant Support System Health Scan Package ()) package.  This is a HP Client manager 6 install that was upgraded to 7 and I *THINK* there may be some extra folders that are causing the issue.  I have a grand total of about 260 folders there...  MOST of the files are the same.  Almost all the files have the same date.

Can anyone provide some insight here?

TIA

Hi Jimmy, The extra folders

Hi Jimmy,

The extra folders will be present from an upgrade of 6.2 to 7.  Each folder represents unique sysids supported by HPCM.

The latest update for Instant support occurred Oct 19th.  If you have updated HP tools since the 19th, then you should be getting the latest updates that were available at that time.

Please note that we only look for SSM compliant drivers.  Non SSM compliant drivers cannot be pushed out with HPCM's softpaq delivery wizard.

The files in your folders will have the same date as when you actually performed an HP Tools Update and downloaded the Health Scan bits.  All of the folders get updated.

Are any of these directories

Are any of these directories "extra"? can they be cleaned up?   should they be?

If I do a search of all of those dirs/files looking for sp41804 or 41246, (which were released in fall of last year and are SSM compliant), I don't get any hits.  If I search for sp40405, I do get a hit in folders (0968,097c,0980,0984).  It's like the update list is frozen in time.  My tools show as being updated...current
