I'm running HP Client Manager but when trying to run the HP Tool Update Wizard it is stuck at 78% of updating HP Instant Support Healthscan. Browsing the Altiris log I see the following entry (the only one which mentions tools):

Log File Name: E:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Logs\a7.log

Host Name: SERVER

Process: aexsvc.exe (7724)

Thread ID: 8788

Module: AltirisNativeHelper.dll

at Altiris.HPCMS.HPToolUpdaterTask.DownloadTools(ArrayList listTools) )

I've reinstalled HP Client Manager before having run into this same issue but it had the same problem after being reinstalled. Likewise, restarts of services or the server have no effect.

Re: HP Tool Update hangs at 78%

Hi Quitch,

This may be an instance where the HPCM tables for HP Tool update in SQL need to be reset in order to resume the proper functionality.

If you are comfortable with SQL, please send me a snapshot of the state of the table 'HPCMS_Property'.  This table should be under the your current NS database.  There should be entries that start with 'HPTool.xxx'.

Sorry, for whatever reason I missed notification of your post at the time. We have since moved to HP Client Manager 7 which is updating the tools successfully.
