HPCM Agent Download to Package Servers

Created: 26 Jun 2008 • Updated: 30 Aug 2010 | 3 comments

On one of my NSs, I have HPCM running fine. On another, I'm having difficulty getting the agent packages to full download to the package servers. Most of the downloads reach 99% and never complete. This NS just happens to host a very large number of clients and I'd like to start deploying the agents soon. I'm really lost on this one...

Here are the log file excerpts when the download bombs:

<![CDATA[HTTP request redirected from HTTP://madeupserver.com:8051/Altiris/NS/NSCap/Bin/... to HTTP://madeupserver.com:8051/Altiris/NS/error.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/Altiris/NS/NSCap/Bin/Win32/X86/HPCMS/Agent/L10N/HealthStrings.aspx.de.resx]]>

<![CDATA[Failed to set file time: Host did not report last modified time]]>

There are a number of these resx files in ..\NSCap\Bin\Win32\X86\HPCMS\Agent\L10N. I've tried copying these same files from the working NS to the one thats having the issues, but I get the access denied: file in use error. Stopping all of the services I could think would be applicable, I still wasn't able to copy.

Anyone seen anything like this before? I'd really like to find a way to fix this rather than uninstalling/reinstalling HPCM from the server.

Try to copy the resx files from the server to the client and then update the configuration (from the Agent UI.)

Hello,

I have the same problem but I only have 1 NS. The weird thing is that when the agent is being downloaded to the cache folder of the software delivery, the .resx files are all changed to 2 KB.

when i then copy the .resx files myself to that folder, the installer runs perfectly. This is good to know but I can't do this all the time, as you may understand. Is there a permanent solution for this issue? Or can somebody help me to pass this issue?

thank you

We too are only running 1 NS and running into this issue. Is there anyone out there with a fix or workaround?
