  • 1.  HTA to tokens

    Altiris 7.1

Hello, I am new to Altiris and I am trying to build an LTI OS deployment process. I created a custom Windows to enable the HTAs to run. I made it the default for PXE to respond to unknown machines. It works well, I get the machine to boot, get the default Job and therefore show the HTA. When I am done with it, it continues to the scripted OS installation. So far, so good.

The issue is that I have no idea how to transfer the information captured on the HTA to the Windows installation (i.e. Computer Name, Time Zone, etc - basic stuff). I was thinking on modifying the custom unattended.xml on the fly, but I don't see it available when the HTA is running.

If I understand well tokens would be another option, however I haven't found any example on how to modify the values, only to read them.

BTW, I see the Altiris client sources on the OEM folder of my OS package, but it is not getting installed... Any best practice on how to install it? Would RunOnce be the best option?

    Any help, would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
