This issue has been solved. See solution.

Trying to contact Symantec licensing support on https://customercare.symantec.com/app/ask/ results in an infinite loop back to https://customercare.symantec.com/app/

This in Windows 7 x64 on Firefox 6.x,IE 8.x and Chrome 13x

Same problem on Windows SBS 2008 x64 with firefox 6.x and IE 9.x so it's neither OS, Browser, Cookies nor cache.

You might try calling

You might try calling Licensing at 1-800-721-3934 and select option 2.

Thomas

I could, if only i didn't

I could, if only i didn't hate speaking English (i'm not good at it) over a really really bad phoneline, where i have to spell out a 25character upgrade notification.

I just find it strange that i'm the only one having problem with https://customercare.symantec.com/app/ , whatever I select I still get looped back to https://customercare.symantec.com/app/.
So, select Submit a Request attempts to load https://customercare.symantec.com/app/ask but loops back to https://customercare.symantec.com/app/
Selecing My Customer Care and under that Requests or Notification, all loop back to https://customercare.symantec.com/app/

Does it loop back immediately?

For me, after logging in, "Submit a Request" opens up an online form, "My Customer Care" gives an 'overview' & subsequently "Requests" gives a search box (and presumably a list of requests, if I had any!), "Notifications" similarly, and finally "My SymAccount" shows my login and contact details for updating....

Is it possibly a browser config issue? (Tried successfully with both FF:6.0.2 and IE8)

Strange, i have not

Strange, i have not configured IE at all but my Firefox has (too many) addons that might stop it from working.

I will try to create a new account and login using an untouched ie

I tried with a newly created

I tried with a newly created account and everything works fine (except logging out, i have to manually clean my cookies).

The old account still gives me an infinite loop, logging out and cleaning cookies then trying with the new account works fine.

So the problem is somehow with my account, maybe something went wrong with the upgrades Symantec did a while back.

Also a funny thing i notice is with the old account i do not get the "logged in as xxx"-box to the right, it loads like the attached picture. With my new account it looks just like its supposed to.
