    Hi All,

We have a SBS 2003 premium server and Symantec AVB 10.1 The virus scan log file is getting 400 - 500MB daily on It is now 16GB in just 1.5 months.

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition\7.5\Logs\MMDDYYYY.txt

It seems the log file is logging everything when it scanned anything. However, I cannot find anyway to configure the log file setting. Can anyone point me to the right direction please.?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Symantec,
I am having the same problem using Symantec AntiVirus v. 10.1.0.401.  My ...\Logs directory just keeps filling up with enormous files.  The computer's new as of last fall, and I found out about the problem in the spring when I couldn't install a program to my 70 gb harddrive.  It took me a while to locate the problem: ca. 50 gb of log files.  Now I've been routinely deleting them, as I also cannot find any setting to limit the amount of logging--ideally I'd like to limit both what is being logged as well as the directory size, having the program automatically delete the oldest log file when more space is needed.

Thanks in advance from me as well,
    chris

My logs kept recording this line over and over:

    25080E07391E,45,4,14,WAL-CSTEPHANT60,SYSTEM,,,,,,,65536,"C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\Rtvscan.exe",0,,0,301    544    C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\IPSSVC.EXE    33    1720    C:\\Program Files\\Symantec AntiVirus\\Rtvscan.exe    C:\\Program Files\\Symantec AntiVirus\\Rtvscan.exe

What finally worked for me was to turn off Tamper Protection -- the logging stopped immediately.

I got the same problem. I cannot find any settings anywhere to this logs.

I solved it temporarily by renaming the folder logs to logsz, and made it read only. I has not created any new files yet. I am wishing it stays that way and it doesn't get renamed by itself or creates a new folder until a real solution appears.

EDIT #2: Tamper off and log still created.
