Hi,

Can anyone suggest about licensing  in netbackup 7.0?

I have 3 hyper-v servers, 1 file server, 1 active directory and 2 tape drives running on all windows 2008 (2cpu's) with additional 2008 server which will host the backup.

Backup will run on LAN

Thanks

In traditional license model, you need at least;

  • 1 Enterprise Server license for master server
  • 3 Enterprise Client license for Hyper-V backup(1 license per 1 physical host)
  • 2 Standard Client licese for physical host(if the file server and the Domain Controller is both physical host)
  • 2 Library-based Tape Drive Support license
  • (Optional) 1 Application & Database Pack license if you are to configure Active Directry Granular Recovery backup

In capacity-based license model, purchase NetBackp Platform license based on Front End Tera Bytes(FETB) of backup tartgets.

In addition to Yasuhisa's excellent post, I see that you have a Partner badge next to your name.
This means that you can download the NetBackup Licensing Guide from PartnerNet.
