hello,
we have a 2 node r2 hyperv cluster with about 4 vms (exchange , sql, file, acitve directory)
what are some best practices for creating backup jobs ? i have the databases and applications agent.
should i create one big job for all for vms or 4 seperate jobs? should i run it daily or weekly?

Hi Dirk,
Ideally you're going to try backing up your entire Hyper-V environment. If you don't have licenses to allow for this, and you're backing up on a file/application level, then I'd recommend backing up your Data and DBs (SQL/Exchange) in separate jobs. Read my article below on how to do this:
for best practices, the link below will detail everything you need to know, especially for Hyper-V and on application levels:

Thanks!
If you find this is a solution, please mark it as such.
i created 3 jobs
1- exchnage using hyperv agent
2- sql using hyperv agent
3- remaining vms using hyperv agent
i am using the hyperv agent for all jobs. and have excluded the CSVs in job #3.
am i correct when assuming that i cannot do any differentials/incrementals and that using the hyperv agent takes a full backup only?

That's right..And BE 2012 has added support for differentials/incrementals using the hyper-v agent
