I went to this site, https://submit.symantec.com/websubmit/basic.cgi

Once I did, I put in all the in the information, I tried to publish it and upload it and I attempted to send a .exe and it would not permit it. I put it into a .rar file, and I got two e mails back telling me that it was an RAR file. What went wrong here? I do not need to know that it was an .rar. I need to know what it is so I can remove it...The below listed information is of no use to me. I wanted to submit avp.exe and I was not able to.

Rather than RARing the file can you try ZIPing the file and uploading it again.

It was a dangerous file before, but my manager changed the attributes to it, I will dig around a little more.

avp.exe is a process belonging to Kaspersky Internet Security Suite which protects your computer against Internet-bound threats such as spyware and trojans which can be distributed through e-mail or attack directly to the computer allowing unauthorized access to your computer. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

We do not use that or support it. I need to back track and see what it was really all about.
