Hi John,

What error is MsiInstaller giving in the Windows Application Event logs?

Can you find the MSI log and see what errors are in there?

With thanks and best regards,

Mick

Hi John,

The MsiInstaller log itself will be the key to this, but the exact text from the Event Logs may give an indication in the right direction.  Can you copy that into this thread?

With thanks and best regards,

Mick

Hello,

Are you able to manually uninstall SEP from the machine? How many machines are you facing this issue on?

Are there any GPO policies applied? Hope you are uninstalling the softwares with proper rights.

Try considering this Option as well -

Hope that helps!!

Try using an uninstaller if cleanwipe has failed.

Some uninstallers liks "Revo uninstaller" has a hunter mode.  You use that to target the uninstall you want and it should be able to remove the remaining files/folders and registry keys left over by a failed/botched install/uninstall.

Here is the point of failure:

stopProtectedService: Attempting to stop SmcService
stopProtectedService: Unloading BASH driver...
stopProtectedService: Failed to unload BASH with HRESULT=0x80070005

You can get around that by disabling the BASH service, rebooting, and then performing the uninstall again.

Disable BASH driver (BHDrvx86/64) via command line:

1.  Open Command Prompt

For x86 type: sc config BHDrvx86 start= disabled

For x64 type: sc config BHDrvx64 start= disabled

2.  Reboot the machine for the change to take affect

3.  Re-run the install/uninstall

Let me know if that succeeds!  &: )

With thanks and best regards,

Hi John,

When time allows, please do update this thread with news of whether the procedure above worked on your SEP client.

With thanks and best regards,
