Endpoint Protection

Hi,

I want to remove a feature of my Symantec Endpoint Client on my Manager Server and i got this errors on event viewer:

Event ID	1004
Source	MsiInstaller
Type	Warning

First, I apply a package to my Servers group without Proactive Threat Protection to uninstall it and that worked fine for the other server.

The Probleme is on my Manager server.

Second, I try to uninstall it manualy from add and remove program but i got the same error.

Please help me!

You could try to repair the installation from Add/Remove Programs, then uninstall it.  Otherwise, call tech support and get the CleanWipe utility to completely remove it.

In the similar problem mentioned above we could solve it repair the installation from Add/Remove Programs, then uninstall it. 

RickJDS, can you give us the URL to downloan CleanWipe utility.

There is no URL to download it, you need to contact tech support and open a case and they will tell you how to get it.

Try using the CleanwipeUtility tool for the complete uninstallation of Symantec Products.

Like RickJDS suggested, please contact support.  using the cleanwipe utility is a last case scenario as it removes everything, including the history logs.  Please contact support.

Hi Jim,

Try one of the following : -

1) Add/Remove Program  -> Select SEP -> click on change, and then select remove option,

2) Open a new case and request for CleanWipe new ver 4.0

I solved my problem by Unregister and re-register the Windows Installer.

can you elaborate on that  fix please Jim2009. I have the same issue

And here's another question, this time for all. WIll running CleanWipe also remove Symantec Endpoint Manager as the computer with the issue is running Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager on it as well.

Start run ->  msiexec /unregserver ->click OK ---To Unregister msiexec
then
Start run -> msiexec /regserver ->click OK ---To Re-register msiexec

This command will re-register msiexec and will  resolve any issues related MSIEXEC not working properly
