Right now I have a NETGEAR (FS605) switch, a ghost server, and 3 test machines in my testing lab.  The switch is connected to my school network to utilize DHCP and DNS.  I installed client console on to the 3 test machines remotely from a ghost console server. These three test machines are the machines that I want to clone using Symantec Ghost suite solution. I have image already created on DVDs. I copied these DVD on console server. I began using the Ghost inventory. I did every thing step by step. I also tried to create reports on to find out which of these test machines are computable with windows XP and the inventory report run well. But I faced problem to create dynamic machine group from the computers selected by the report. I need a dynamic machine group because it will allow me to easily run tasks on my windows XP Sp2 capable machine such as deploying a windows XP image. I follow all the steps that I have to use to create Dynamic Machine group but I could not see those machines in this group. I use trailware of SGSS and OS is Windows XP SP2 Version 2002. What do I have to do to make this thing work?

    Thank you

I'll like to make sure I understand the problem - you cannot see your machines in a new Dynamic Machine folder?
I'll go through my steps and you can let me know if I'm on the right track with regards to your problem.

    1. Install console and client to machines
    2. The clients shows up in console under Machines Groups - Default
    3. If I go into the properties of my client machines and under the 'Inventory' tab it says there is no data collected
    4. Run 'Refresh Inventory for Default Group' task.
    5. If I go into the properties of my client machines and under the 'Inventory' tab I can see that information has been gathered.
    6. If I go into 'Dynamic Machine Groups', my machines are showing in the respective folders
    7. I create an Inventory report that uses a filter  based on 'Windows XP Minimum Requirements'
    8. After running the report I can see my computers in the Inventory Report Results
    9. I press Create Group and give the new Dynamic Machine Group a name
    10. Opening up the new dynamic machine group I created I can see the machines.

Is this roughly what you're doing and are there any steps here that is not successful in your environment?
Also what are the OS of the 3 machines you're testing with?

    Cheers,
    Bruce

    Hi
It is  roughly what I was  doing . But I use createria to filter out the WIndows XP capable machines and

The criteria I used to filter out these machines and then get in to dynamic group   was that

Machines that are compatible with windows XP professional

The size of RAM that each machines has

     ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

And finally to create a dynamic Machine group from the computers selected by the report I did all the steps accordingly.

Also what are the OS of the 3 machines you're testing with?
The OS of the three machines I used testing with is Windows XP SP2 version 2002.

    Thank you

Are you able to see the clients in any of the 'Dynamic Machine Groups' folders?

You can also try to create a new Dynamic Machine group by selecting Dynamic Machine Groups and right clicking on the Description pane then choosing 'New Dynamic Machine Group.'  I guess this is worth a shot.
