  • 1.  I need direction for an upgrade plan 11.0.63 to 12.x

    Hi -

    I have 5,000 + clients running SEP 11.0.6300.803 , with SEPM 11.0.6300.803 and MS-SQL on another server.

    We installed all of the components but disabled the firewall, and the app contol piece. The deployment went well pushing it from the SEPM console.

    I'm almost afraid to upgrade. I want to keep all the same settings because it has worked well for us before. Is there a best practices guide or can anyone give me the idiots guide punch list on how I should upgrade the clients ? Do I have to upgrade the SEPM also ?

    Agree with Pete. You can Upgrade the SEP 12.1 RU1 but first of all you can get data backup..

     

      To back up the database
      1. Click Start > Programs > Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager > Database Back Up and Restore.
      2. In the Database Backup and Restore dialog box, click Back Up.
      3. When asked "Are you sure you want to back up the database?" click Yes.
      4. When you see the message "The database has been backed up successfully," click OK.
      5. In the Database Backup and Restore dialog box, click Exit.
