pkh's excellent article above will prepare you and point you in the direction of documents you should be checking (SCL/HCL etc).

I don't know how you are going to install the extra licences to backup your Exchange DAG.  You cannot install any Agent for Applications and Databases licence in a BE SBE edition.  The BE SBE licence comes with only 1 Exchange licence built-in.  See

2012 Portfolio Licensing Guide

I would suggest that you check with your reseller or Symantec Licencing as to how to handle your situation.  You may need to change to a full version of BE.

AFAIK The licensing model for the 2012 SBS edition does have a concept of remote agents for applications etc

Bascially the SBS core license allows you to backup and protect application data held on the media server itself. As the new model lets you backup up to 3 servers and they do not have to actually be SBS servers, if your application is on a remote server from the media server you install the Backup Exec core product and the license details for both the core product and the SBS specific Remote Agent for Applications. You then install the remote agent software onto your remote server.

If the remote server is just a file server I think you need a standard remote agent for windows license and not a specific SBS one

Please note: As Tech Support do not normally handle licensing queries you should confirm the above by contacting the Customer Care licensing team - unfortunately they do not monitor these forums so you will need to either phone or e-mail them
