I'm trying the 2010 trial version before buying this.
I have some problem with my DDS4 autoloader. (IBM 3503B1X)
The Driver used have the same name that this used and seen on the server Start : Python 06241-XXX

The are 6 tapes in this but there are not correctly recognized. Mostly they are displayed as unrecognized tape
After 10 test one backup worked ans the tape was displayed correctly. Mostly the Job stay in the Queue without any error.

Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

First thing is to check whether or not your device is on the Backup Exec 2010 HCL...

ftp://exftpp.symantec.com/pub/support/products/Backup_Exec_for_WindowsNT/329256.pdf

From that, your device isn't shown as being compatible. You can try installing the Symantec drivers for your device, and verifying that RSM service is disabled, but if it isn't on the HCL, chances are that it either won't work, or would work erratically like you are currently experiencing.

Laters!

This is the Removable Storage service and you can find it under the Windows Services.
