Currently, I am testing resore test in the following environment.

IBM x346
IBM ServerRaid7k + Raid5 HDD
Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI + HP StorageWorks Ultrium 448
WIndows server 2k3 SP1 + all hotfix
BackupExec 10.d SP1 + all hotfix

I created IDR boot CD in above environment. Then it boot from IDR CD. It appears "Intelligent Disaster Recovery" window.

But it cannot detect media devices. it says "No resore devices found." Then I cannot restore.

Please let me know how to find the tape device to restore.

Thank you.

Hello,

- Please give us the exact error message or the alert that you get.
- Also please let us know step by step what you are doing.

- Is the Device attached to the media Server?
- Are you doing an IDR of the local Media Server or a Remote Server?

We await an Update from you.

Thanks,
Regards

My tape device is connected to local and adaptec ultrascsi 320.
Also, my operation is below.

1. Installing Windows 2k3 std., SP1 and all hot fixes.
2. Installing Backuo exec 10d, SP1 and all hot fixes.
3. Backing up full drives with both system c: and data e:
4. Creating IDR boot CD.
5. Booting IDR CD.
6. Adding IBM Serverraid driver and Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI drver under pushing F6 key.
7. Pushing F2 to ASR.
8. Stopping under "Detecting Media Devices" The error messages are "No restore devices were found. Please ensure that the device is securely attached to the controller and powered on". "Loading trscsi.sys".

Also, before above the window, I tried "net stop removable storage" but got the same above error messages.

Thank you.

Hello
We Recommend you to check that with your Hardware manufacturer. He will be able to let you know what SCSI card will be compatible with your Device.

thanks

Hello,

I already checked your compatibility list for Blackup exec10.d. Why can hardware manufacturer say about this ? This product is from you, right ? If this SCSI card is not worked with IDS, you should not list in compatibility list.

Hello,

Kindly perform the following:

1. Boot the computer using the IDR Bootable CD.

2. When prompted during the IDR process, choose Custom setup

3. When the additional controllers window is displayed, click S to specify
additional controllers

4. When prompted, insert the THIRD PARTY OEM driver disk

After these drivers have been specified, the IDR process should continue
normally.

Thank You,

Shweta
