Hi

Internet Explorer crashes due to IPS Add-on . If  the addon is disabled then everything is fine.

Following are the details

IE Version -

SEP Version -SEP 12.1 RU1

Symantec IPS ADD-ON version -9.8.3.0

To duplicate the issue, you can use this file. You must have IE 8 version 8.0.7601.17514 and have the Symantec Add-On "Enabled". Please place the file someplace on your computer and then open it. (file is attached Marquee.html)

It will open Internet Explorer and on the top of your screen you will see that it restricting the Active X control from running. Please click on the message and choose "Allow Blocked Content".

This page uses a jQurey library to produce a scrolling marquee across the page. Colgate has been using it for years to display "Breaking News" alerts. For whatever reason, this latest add-on from Symantec in combination with our IE 8 version, it is producing memory leaks.

You can monitor the memory leak by using the windows task manager. The memory will just continue to go up.

Need your assistance.
