  • 1.  If PXE Boot Fails, It does not exit - It hangs

    Posted May 06, 2016 04:58 PM

This is more of a general question about PXE Boot for the community. We have a few computers that do not exit on their own out of PXE boot if they don't have a job. They hang at "PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent.". The only way to exit out of the screen, is to use "ALT+CTRL+DEL". I'm just curious if others if experienced the same thing and if using automation folders on computers that are having an issue with PXE, would be a fair option? We'd like to use PXE where we can.

Are these random computers or all the same make?  It could be BIOS related so make sure that the machines are all at the latest bios level before proceeding any further.

The ones experiencing an issue are all distributed by the same manufacturer - Arrow. And it does seem to be related to the BIOS because the one Arrow model that IS working is running American Megatrends BIOS while the non working models are using a version of Phoenix - Award BIOS. We're working with Arrow now to see what our options are.

    Thank you!
