Hi hanky,

Moved to a new thread...Windows 2000 Server support is non-existant in BE 2012. It was last supported in BE 2010 R3.

You can contact Symantec's licensing department and ask them about purchasing BE 2012 licenses, but then downgrading them to BE 2010 licenses. This will buy you time until you decommision your Win2K servers, and are then able to upgrade to BE 2012.

Be aware that BE 2010 only supports Win2K as a remote server...not as a media server.

Thanks!

Anytime you purchase a valid copy of BackupExec, you can call or email the licensing group to downgrade your licenses (wiithin reason)  They should be able to get you as far back at the oldest currently supported version.

There is an online portal, save yourself the long hold times. Create ticket online, then call in with ticket # in hand :-) http://mysupport.symantec.com "We backup data to restore, we don't backup data just to back it up."
