I have an IIS Server that is consistently spiking in CPU at over 50% with just basic AV and SEP client verion 12.1.2. Any idea why that would be? Are there exceptions I need to look into?

What process is utilising the CPU?

    Exclude:

%systemroot%\IIS Temporary Compressed Files (IIS 6.0)

%SystemDrive%\inetpub\temp\IIS Temporary Compressed Files (IIS 7.0)

    %systemroot%\system32\inetsrv

So now I'm told that it's just not IIS servers but other servers too and the behavior is intermittent. How do I pinpoint that it's SEP causing this (as everyone is saying) other than disabling SEP?

Does disabling SEP cause the issue to stop? If so, this is something you will likely need to work with support on as they have the necessary resources to troubleshoot and determine a cause.

Also, just as an fyi, RU3 is the latest version of SEP. You may be asked to upgrade to see if it fixes the issue.
