Hello Everyone..

I am tyring to add the robot to the netbackup server and its giving the error "illegal drive in robot", showing status as "unusable"

the robot/tape library is contorled by other master server previouly that was not in production.. and now trying to connect this to the Production Master..

i find that it has some stuck tapes in the Tape drives..

does stuck tape is the  reason for the error :illegal drive in robot"?

What type of robot are we talking about (vendor/modelnumber)  ?

if possible - try to power off the tape drive that got a stuck tape.

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

tape library is supported by Netbackup 7.X, but the Quantam tape Drives in the librarary is not supported by Netbackup 7.X.. they are used when netbackup was in 6.X

thanks a lot

Tape library must be operational. Fix the stuck first.

Check output of 'scan' on the robot control host.

Sounds as if there is a problem with the robot itself.
