Hello,
So I have not worked with IM manager for a few years now and after looking at the Symantec docs I have one question:
Can IM manager for OCS be implemented if you are not archiving email? In looking at the documentation is just says install the app then export to EV, it is the export to EV part that I am not as familiar with, does the system create an IM vault store and archive?

IM Manager does integrate
IM Manager does integrate with OCS hwoever there is no requirement to setup archiving with EV or any other system.
Most customer that do integrate OCS and IM Manager are looking to archive their messages but, their is no requirment that you configure it in that way.
If customers want to archive their IMs but not their e-mail they can do that do however, they will need to setup EV (or other archive) to accept the IM Message data from IM Manger and configure IM Manager to send the data there.
As for exports to EV, IM Manager relies on a pre-made store and archives in EV. IM Manager simply uses the connection detials and uses them in an export job. When IM manager runs that export job the messages are sent to EV into the archive and store that was already setup.
