Hi,

I am new to netbackup and requrie some help/advise. I need to cean up space on my disk drive. Is there a way to maunally run an image cleanup utility in which I can specify what date images to cleanup. In activity monitor I see a image cleanup job run. Is there a way I can find out what jobs it is cleaning and could I set my own parameters? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

hi,

you can  expire the images what ever you wnat manually , when you require the space, (REMEMBER once you expire you can not take it back)

2 ways to expire it

1) GUI->catalogs-> search for the images that you want to expire ---> right click and select expire

2) find the backup ID that you want to expire, and use the CLI command.

from CLI---> bpexpdate -backupid <backupid > -d 0

in the detail status of the image clean up , you can see what are the images that are being cleaned.

Hope this helps.

Image cleanup runs automatically every 12 hours and after each hot catalog backup.

See Host Properties -> Master server -> Clean-up.

Image Cleanup job shows in Activity Monitor and Overview and Details tabs tell you image list.

There is no way to customise 'what' needs to be cleaned up. Cleanup is strictly controlled by retention levels on backup images.
