I have Ghost Console v11.0.2.1573 installed on what I will be using as my Ghost Console Server.

I tried to be as detailed as possible in describing my needs and I’ve searched this forum and have been reading the manual. What I am trying to accomplish seems simple which is why I must not understand the concepts behind how Ghost Console, GhostCast Server is designed to work. A typicall rollout consists of; uninstalling certain preinstalled software, installiung Microsoft updates, installing Office Pro, and Acrobat Reader. At this stage, I want to create an image to use for future deployments of similar model laptops or workstations.

To recap; from the Ghost Console server;

  • Source: I want to be able to create an Image of a machine that resides on our local domain.
  • Save the Source Image locally to a folder on the Ghost Console server.
  • Optionally deploy the Source Image residing on the Ghost Console server to any machine on our network domain.

I was able to deploy the the Client to the machine that I am attempting to Image but can’t seem to get passed this point. I tied following the Flash tutorial. Created New Image Definition. Create Sysprep… something missing in tutorial; shows nothing to do. New Image Create Task; Source Machine browse; select Target. END. Try choosing a Target machine but OK button remains disabled.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jim

Sysprep

Jim,

It looks like the issue is with the Sysprep configuration. Here is an article on how to use Sysprep with Ghost:

Thank you,
