  • 1.  Image made locally (bartPE) wont work with ghost client

In our environment where we use the same type of machines in different parts of the distritct (each with its own ghost console 8.2 in each school) I sometimes pull an image locally booting into BartPE and using ghost to pull the image to a USB hard drive. I then take that image and move it to the ghost console server. Now the problem starts when i try to use that image to clone a machine using the ghost client. I create a new task, point it to the machine/group then use the image i just created and copied to the server. I start the task, machine updates client and boots into a virtual partition. Then as it begins cloning it fails. Now i have tested this and when I pull an image, say using ghost boot disks, to the server and try to push it out later, it works without a problem. So why is it that a locally made image file is apparently different then an image file made with the ghost boot disks and how can I use the locally created images with my ghost consoles?Message was edited by:

Can you clarify a few things related to your problem:

    * When deploying the image, where/when does the clone fail?

    * Is it during the Ghost operation? If so, is there an error file?

    * How large is the image? And is the image spanned?
