Deployment Solution

Hi,

Since last friday we are having som trouble installing new computers. Computer that already are registered on our deployment server works fine.

We can get the machine to connect and choose a computer name that have a job assigned. But when the machine is supposed to start installing it just hangs. It seems that our deployment server cant register the MAC address. In DSTraffic log we get GetPXEClientRecord: Lookup: Failed...

I can manually add a new computer with the mac address and a computer name and it works fine.

Any ideas anyone?

We have a similar problem once in a while with 6.9 Sp2, SP3 and SP4. Stopping and starting all the services for the Deployment server sometimes fixes the problem. But a reboot of the server seems to work better for some reason.

 That might not be the best answer but it seems to work.

Sounds like you are using Initial Deployment a lot. If so, you might find ImageInvoker useful.

that we had added to many predefined computers on the deployment server...

We deleted a range of computers and then it works as it should do...

Does anyone know what the limit is? We had about 130 machines..

Yes, we are installing many machines at the moment.
