  • 1.  Imaging HP T5545 Debian Linux

    Posted Mar 26, 2009 05:30 PM
    Hi,

I am a bit desparate here. The situation is as follows:
    • I have a HP T5545 running Debian Linux.
    • I can install the default HP image (flash.dd) using a deployment script job
    • I can create an image using a Deployment Create Image Job
    • I can deploy the image to a T5545

So far so good. But after the TC reboots into the OS I find that the networkconnection is OK (I can ping), I can see on the TC that the AClient has the proper DS address but still somehow it doesn't connect to the DS. I have re-installed the ADLAgent but no improvement.

Anyone out there with experience on this type of Thin Client?
I would also like to know any tips & trics for properly imaging this TC? HP is not willing to provide any support because I do not use the default HP image and USB device.

I am really in need for a solution.

    thanks in advance

I noticed this issue with the t5545 if you can get the adlagentdbg.txt and axegine log to support.

I cannot seem to find an attach option, so I just paste some of the data in here.

    Hi Linux Man,

I have found a workaround that works.
Before I create an image I remove a file /etc/udev/rules.d/z25_persistent-net.rules, if I leave this file the OS will create the eth1.

Because the AClient autoconfigure utility doesn't work before I deploy the image I run a ReplaceTokens script to capture the existing computername. Then I deploy the image en last I copy my %ID%hostname to etc/hostname and than reboot te system.

If you have another suggestion or if you know how to make Autoconfigure work I am very interested.
