  • 1.  .img to .gho altiris7.5

We have recently upgraded our version of altris to version 7.5 from 6.1.   We have about 20 images that were created in the older version of Altris. (.img).  We would like to know how to either covert the images to .gho (or .ghs) or import them into the new build so we don't have to recreate all the images.  We have found online the resourceimporttool.exe but it does nothing when we run it.  Is there a place we can reinstall or redownload that portion?

    Hi,

Tools do not exist to convert these rapideploy images to ghost format. If they did, they'd also be of limited use as the history of what's in the image 'agent-wise' matters.

    Your options are,

    1. Fire up a VM and recreate the machine from scratch. Then use an image capture task to upload this back up into Altiris. (I always prefer this option)

    2. Deploy your rapiddeploy image to a VM. In the  production OS make sure all the agents are upgraded, OK and communcating nicely to the updated server. Then capture the image.

    Kind Regards,
    Ian./
