    Dear All,

I want to implement policies in mac computer using altiris managment 7.5. But i don’t do it because i don’t know how to create new policies in altiris and how to deploy it.

I read some article but i don’t find exatly solution.  Here is some example of policies which can we deploy client computers.

I want to deploy autoscreenlock policiy. For example, screen lock after two minute.

    Logon external driver policy.

    Security 802.1x policy.

    Regards,

    Hi,

seems like you need to create a "Run Script" - AppleScript task ⇒ specify there appropriate command line script  ⇒ target this task to Mac computers, where you have already installed ULM Agent.

    As example for task creation:

    Thanks,

    IP.

    Hi selim,

You have several way to accomplish this:

    1. You can create script task (unix script) to do this through defaults command to write needed values into corresponding plist files (to modify screensaver properties there is a com.apple.screensaver.plist)

After you are done - create Client task schedule task (you can see it on the image above) . Add task from step one and schedule Clietn task schedule to run on login or whatever you want.

Here you can find mac management scripts http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO51884 . But make sure to test these before you apply these scripts to managed clients.

    2. If you are using software management solution, then you may try to setup mac management profiles.

You can find section in mac managmeent guid  http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC6014  (page 94)

    Thanks,

Though the article for the Mac Scripts indicates there is an XML file that should be attached to the article. I do not see the XML, or any attachements, associated with the article.

Did something get removed from the article or am I not looking in the right place within the article?

KB articles were recently migrated and public settings for attachments was not carried over, at least as I was told. I modified the attachment settings to be public. It will take about 12 hours for reindexing to occur. Until then, just add a question mark to the url to force loading of the attachment:
