Hi Inaly
Firstly, reading NetBackup's many HUGE manuals is going to have to become a favourite pass-time hobby if you are going to look after NetBackup - it is an infinitely configurable application that does not come with a single solution to any requirement. A single question from someone for funtionality could turn into days of reading!
Anyway, a basic guideline for NOM (I would still advise that you still read beforehand and do some basic planning). This is based on version 6.5 for Windows
Prerequisites:
Install NOM
Note: The NOM server must be added to trusted server list in NetBackup for each server you wish to manage (under the host -> master server properties)
To connect to the NOM installation connect to http://hostname.<FQDN>:8181/nom.
At the logon screen type and/or choose the following
User Name: admin
Password: Vxadmin (or the one you chose)
Domain: NOM_BuiltIn@hostname.<FQDN>(vx)
You will then have the option to choose your default settings and add your master server.
If I continue any longer this will turn into another manual!
Cheers
hi Dion,
Thanks for the pain that u have undergone for this documentation, well i will check and get back to u...

With what Dion just gave you, I hope you do more than look into it. Those are the steps to get a NOM server running. Most of us had to read the manual...I believe there is even a quick start portion that is a few pages. Might want to look at it. You may also look at the Backup Reporter software as well. I am not sure what you want to accomplish with NOM but the VBR is a much better utility than the free NOM, but of course you will have to pay for it. I have been happy with Backup Reporter since we purchased it.
HI all, with all ur help i have implemented NOM successfully on a standalone machine. i have added the Master Server on the NOM but it is showing as partially online... please guide me what i have to do...
regards,
Inay
Please make sure the NOM version is same as the NetBackup Server version, since the latest NOM 6.5.2 is released.
Thanks for the reply,

Perhaps RTFM, or call Symantec support.
Dear All,
Now the Master Server is showing online in the NOM console, the issue was that both the Master Server and the NOM server must be of Same Version i had Master server as 6.5.2 and i upgraded the NOM server 6.5.2 now everything works fine....
Thanks for the support....
regards,
Inay
