Import Thin Clients from eXpress-database to CMDB

We manage HP Thin Clients (t5000 series) using Altiris Deployment Solution 6.9 SP3. I am looking to import them into CMDB on NS6 using the eXpress-database as data source. Is there a simpler or better built-in way of doing this?

I have created "Thin Client" as a new asset type in CMDB and used "Network Resource" as "Base Resource Type". I would like to add the Data Classes "AeX HW BIOS" and "OS Operating System Common" to my custom Thin Client asset type. I cloned both data classes and moved them to User Defined, but when I open the asset type Thin Client and click Add Data Classes, the User Defined folder appears to be empty.

I exported the cloned Data Classes to XML and changed <userEditable>false</userEditable> to <userEditable>true</userEditable>. After import the User Defined folder still appears empty. What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried using the connector solution?

That is the best way to connect external data sources and do hte proper mapping of data classes.

Yes, I'm using Connector Solution

Thank you for your suggestion.

I forgot to mention in the opening post that I have added the eXpress-database under Data Sources in Connectors Solution. I have also created an Import Rule but I need to add more data classes for the asset type "Thin Client" before I can do data class mappings.

You will need to create the new data classes

and then add them into your new resource type. I don't believe the method you mentioned would work. You might even be able to just add the existing dataclasses and attributes, but I'm not sure.
