  • 1.  Inbound Content Filtering for Specific External Senders

    Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone had found themselves in a situation where they needed to get a bit more granular on incoming emails. I'm using Brightmail Gateway 9.0.1 btw.

What I'm attempting to do is bypass certain parts of the content filters for a certain select bunch of 'special' external senders. So my policy would look a little like this....

If the user is a 'special one' then scan for viruses, don't scan for spam and scan content for the following only:

    Executables
    Offensive language - violence
    Offensive language - racial
    Offensive language - profanity

I feel like this should be possible but I can't figure it out. I've tried using Policy groups - but they're only for internal recipients. Local good senders can either bypass or run through all content filtering and after that, I'm out of ideas. I toyed with creating a content filter based on a dictionary containg the 'special one's' email addresses but again, there doesn't seem to be a way of specifying only the parts of the content filtering I wanted to apply.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance and best regards

    Arrer

Without the option of a 'unless' clause, this is not really possible with Brightmail Appliances.
